Rachael Maskell is, unfortunately, my MP. She doesn't live nearby and is out of touch. This is also 9 years old but it is still her rhetoric. York residents currently wait 4-6 weeks for what could be considered urgent care. The GPs are refusing to see patients, so they discriminate against some disabled people - Deaf and/or Mute - and if you do need anything for Mental Health support, forget it. The GPs use online triage forms that always say if it's urgent call 111 or go to A&E. My daughter waited nearly 3 months for mental health support and she was sending the online form through daily. She only got the care from the GP when she did because I was worried about her and took her to A&E. The CMHT ended up ringing the GPs and blasting them. Funding in the NHS is good, the problem is that GPs are given the funding to pay for the requisite NHS treatments for their patients because all areas have different demographics. The GPs sold things like orthopaedic treatments/surgeries to Private hospitals so only about half of their patients can be seen, due to the cost. They only pay for certain treatments or surgeries and tell their most vulnerable patients to go private. One final point here, class sizes in state primary schools in York & North Yorks are at least 28 children with 1 teacher and, if they are lucky, 1 TA. Secondary schools are already at 32 students in a class with only a teacher, unless a specific student has ASNs.

Bicyclists need separate places to ride where they have to interact with traffic as little as possible. The car centric infrastructure is what makes things so dangerous for bicycles and road engineers specifically design the roads to favor the cars.

I’ve always wanted to keep riding a bike, but I was pushed off a bike by a driver, onto a busy road in London at 13 years old, and It absolutely terrified me😢. I never rid a bicycle ever since. Now I’m 27 and I can’t remember how to balance myself on a bike😟. And the thought of being on a road on a bike gives me such anxiety😟. Great to see events like this happening and raising awareness ❤️🙂🚴‍♂️.
